The impacts of climate change
Climate change will have many serious impacts some of which are outlined in this section. Humankind has entered into a massive experiment and the full impact will no doubt have many inter-related and unexpected impacts. A few may be beneficial; most will not.
The oceans act as a massive heat store as the earth warms. Much of the present warming has therefore resulted in a rise in ocean temperatures, delaying the full impact of global temperature rises on the earth's surface. Many people still believe we have the option to 'wait and see' what the impacts will be. Since even small temperature rises will take decades to reverse, this is hardly a rational option.
